On my sole attempt to copy the directions on an oddly shaped box, I could not get the printer to copy the page. The only function I've succeeded with is printing from a PC. On the bright side, when the device does function without incident, it produces fine output. Fortunately, I read enough negative reviews early enough so this shortcoming did not lead to a printing emergency. You'll have to get a new (and better toner cartridge almost immediately. Users should also be warned that the supplied printer toner cartridge contains enough toner to print a ridiculously small number of pages. A number of times we simply gave up and physically connected the printer and sending PC to a USB cable, and even then the printer would often fail to respond to a sent document.
Brother 8710dw does not print to scale install#
I estimate that it took 12 hours of my time to accomplish what should have been a routine chore, namely, to install the needed drivers on our Windows 10 PC devices and get those devices to "see" and be seen by the Brother MFCL2710DW printer and then to reliably and routinely print stuff we sent to the printer over our home WiFi network. That hope was finally realized after weeks of frustrating installation, re-installation, and tweaking of the supplied drivers. Since it was several years old, we decided to get a multi-function Brother printer and - we hoped - an improved ability to communicate with devices throughout our home.

FINALLY Our last home office printer was a simple, one-function Brother printer, which worked admirably until its ability to use our home WiFi system started to act up.
